Reopening of busy Sheffield city centre commuter route Tenter Street delayed for second time
“Our contractor, Sisk, is committed to completing the work as quickly as possible”
A reopening date for a busy commuter route has been pushed back again.
Tenter Street is now set to reopen on Friday, August 28, Sheffield City Council says, after an ‘unexpected issue with construction equipment’.

It was due to reopen by August 17 but was delayed due to high temperatures which affected concrete curing.
It was then due to open on or around Saturday, August 22, until the equipment issue.
The delays have had a knock-on effect on repairs to the nearby Dutch Roundabout, which have now been postponed until Easter to avoid clashing with the start of term on Tuesday, September 1.
A Sheffield City Council spokesperson said: “Our contractor, Sisk, is committed to completing the work as quickly as possible. the works are now expected to be completed by Friday 28 August. The road closure and traffic management arrangements will then be removed.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank road users, residents, and businesses for their patience while these works are completed.”
