Police target more than 50 cars in crackdown on Sheffield's worst streets for parking

South Yorkshire Police issued a number of tickets and fines as part of a crackdown on dangerous parking in Nether Edge and the surrounding area.

Police and parking services patrolled London Road and the Abbeydale Road corridor yesterday (January 31) for a couple of hours and targeted more than 50 vehicles in that time.The main area of concern was Clearway, which is no parking between 16:00-18:30 in order to allow cyclists, motorcyclists, buses and taxis can use it in the rush hours times.

A total of 10 tickets were issued parking on the Clearway.

Another area notorious for bad parking is Vincent Road and South View Crescent in Nether Edge.

Two obstruction tickets were issued on these streets, which were the focus of an appeal from residents who want to bring an end to their ‘parking nightmare’.Throughout the area, 40 drivers were also given warnings and told to move off immediately.
