Police confirm Sheffield man killed after being hit by car in M1 crash

A 62-year-old Sheffield man has died after being hit by a car on the M1 earlier today (January 20)

Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the fatal collision on the M1 Southbound.

At around 5:30am, police received reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian between Junction 36 and Junction 35A on the M1 Southbound.

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old Sheffield man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The M1 has been re-opened following an investigation at the scene. Police put up a screen around the scene as the investigation too place.

Police are asking anyone who saw the collision, or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
