Points failure causing disruption for rail passengers at Sheffield station

An earlier points failure has meant that fewer platforms are available for Northern trains to use affecting Sheffield and Lincoln, Huddersfield, Leeds, Doncaster, Hull and Bridlington routes.

Although it has now been fixed, residual disruption means trains may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or cancelled until at least 10am.

Northern said timetables may also be revised, with some trains starting and terminating at Meadowhall, not calling at Sheffield.
