Heartache continues for family of woman critically injured on M1 near Sheffield

A woman seriously injured in an M1 collision near Sheffield remains in a critical condition today.

The 43-year-old was seriously injured when the black Vauxhall Corsa she was driving was involved in a collision with a maroon DAF HGV on Wednesday morning.

Her car then collided with the central reservation barrier and was involved in a second collision with a yellow Volvo HGV and a silver Renault Trafic.

The collision on the southbound carriageway, between Junction 31 for Aston and 32 for the M18, led to the closure of the motorway for around 10 hours.

Earlier this week, the injured woman’s sister, Stacey Richardson, posting on Facebook, said she is not expected to survive.

She described her as ‘an amazing woman with amazing kids’.

A police investigation into the collision is still under way,

Officers want to hear from witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the incident.
