Drivers warned of major delays across Sheffield city centre due to climate strike protest

Drivers have been warned about long delays that could affect Sheffield while a climate process is taking place.

The Global Climate Strike protest is taking place in the city centre today (November 29) and is expected to last from 11am until 3pm.

Police officers will be monitoring the traffic, however Travel South Yorkshire have warned those travelling through the city during that time to expect long delays.

First South Yorkshire also said that all services in the city centre would be delayed by up to 45 minutes.

No road closures will be in place during the protest, but roads may be congested by those taking part in the demonstration.

Protesters will be gathering on Devonshire Green at 11.30am to begin the demonstration.

Children and young people in 100 towns and cities across the UK have been walking out of classrooms today for the latest youth strike to highlight the escalating climate crisis.
