'Disruption on all railway lines' in Sheffield due to points failure

Train passengers are facing extensive delays this morning due to a points failure at a Sheffield railway station which is causing ‘disruption on all lines'.

Due to a points failure at Dore, all services running between Leeds and Nottingham are currently unable to run between Sheffield and Dronfield, in both directions.

A spokesman for Northern said this is causing disruption on ‘all lines’.

Network Rail staff are now on site working to rectify this fault, however, no estimate for normal working can be provided at this time.

“For passengers on station platforms, please listen for announcements or consult Customer Information Screens,” the spokesman said in a statement.
