Contractor Amey reveals date to repair two notoriously potholed Sheffield roads
“This whole section needs pulling up and re-laying as it covers such a large area”
Two notoriously potholed Sheffield roads are set to be fixed next month, a contractor has revealed.
Amey says it will repair the crossroads at Fulwood and Hangingwater roads in Ranmoor next month.

It will also repair a section of Fulwood Road near Stumperlowe Park Road, near the Tesco filling station, in Fulwood.
The works are listed on the new Streets Ahead Planned Road Resurfacing Works website.
It shows ‘planned works’, works with ‘start date confirmed’ and surface dressing.
On the FixMyStreet website, reports for the Hangingwater junction date back to 2022.
One from 2024 states: “Large and dangerous potholes in the middle of the road.”
Another states: “This whole section needs pulling up and re-laying as it covers such a large area. It feels like you're off roading when you go over it’.”
In the Stumperlowe area reports date back to September 2025.
One states: “Massive long deep gash with tiny pointless patch at front.”
Another says: ‘”Deep hole. Not much road left to speak of.”
Amey is 15 years into a 25-year, £2.2bn, contract with the city council to repair roads.
