STUDENTS at Barnsley College have been on a festive assignment raising money for the Hallam FM and Magic AM’s Cash for Kids appeal Mission Christmas.
Youngsters who sit on the Student Union committee organised a two day Christmas extravaganza which raised almost £300 which will pay for presents for disadvantaged children.
Students and staff have also organised a present drop throughout December, with over 170 gifts being donated.
They were all presented to Claire Wareing from Cash for Kids, who said: “It is fantastic to see how the college has really embraced this project.
“This is the second year running I have been to collect the hoards of presents they have donated and I am once again so impressed with generosity of the students and staff.”
With the deadline for gift donations falling yesterday, Hallam FM has been busy totting up the amount of presents which will be bringing a smile to the faces of children across the area this Christmas. The total will be revealed in The Star tomorrow.
Anyone who missed the chance to give a gift can still give to the appeal. Visit the website www.hallamfm.co.uk/missionchristmas to donate cash.
