Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which started its run at the beginning of the month, has got a host of stars attached to its bill - including West End star Zoe Birkett as The Wicked Queen, Britain’s Got Talent’s Enola Dyer as Snow White and Anthony Collesso as the handsome Prince.

Rotherham Civic Theatre manager Jo Longworth said: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a popular fairy tale. It has everything needed for a great pantomime, with amazing scenery and special effects, stunning costumes, and brilliant song and dance routines, a wonderful love story, live music, loads of audience interaction, laughs, hilarious jokes and plenty of booing and hissing for the Wicked Queen.

“A trip to the pantomime is a perfect way for families to make the Christmas and New Year celebrations extra special. With the first-class cast we’ve got this year, I’m sure it will be a show to remember! We promise to have the fairest pantomime of them all – so get your tickets now!

“We’ve already sold more tickets than we had by this time last year, with most of our shows around Christmas and New Year sold out. Luckily our run continues until January 8, so there’s plenty of time to come and give the winter blues the shove and soak up a little more festivity in the new year.

“Due to ill health Steve Barclay is sadly unable to appear in this year’s production. We are happy to welcome the accomplished actor Robert Forknall to play the role of Dame Dolly in his place, and would like to wish Steve a speedy recovery.”

Rotherham Council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods and cultural services, Coun Taiba Yasseen, said: “A trip to the pantomime is a highlight for all the family during the festive season. It is wonderful to see the children and parents enjoying themselves and taking part in the audience interaction during the shows.
