Mr Henchliffe was 'severely attacked' on Corporation Street in Chesterfield on Saturday night, according to his sister.
Zoey Henchliffe said: "He's in intensive care at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, in a coma and fighting for his life.
"He has two bleeds and a fracture to the brain."

Ms Henchliffe and her mum are staying at the hospital overnight.
Hundreds of people have taken to social media to wish Mr Henchliffe a speedy recovery - and express their shock at the incident.
Mr Henchcliffe is understood to be a member of the infantry of the British Army.
