FROM a farm to a hotel, attractions across South Yorkshire are in the running for top tourism awards.
The county’s finest venues and individuals working in the field are set to shine as finalists in the coveted White Rose Awards.
Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley is up for the ‘large visitor attraction’ category, as is Cannon Hall Museum and Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster. Artisan in Crosspool is battling it out in the restaurants category, while Throapham House, Dinnington is in the bed and breakfast section and The Leopold in the city centre is in the running among hotels.
Prof Colin Mellors, chairman of the judges, said: “It is always a pleasure to see so many quality submissions and the standard meant the judges had a very difficult task in deciding who should go through. Yorkshire has such an abundance of tourism gems, and those who made the final should be incredibly proud of themselves.”
Winners will be revealed in October.
