‘Toughest race’ for businessman

BUSINESSMAN Michael Jenkinson is taking on an extreme endurance race across the Sahara Desert to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Michael, aged 42, will take on the 151-mile Marathon des Sables, known as the ‘toughest footrace on earth’, across the desert over six days.

The managing director of Sheffield manufacturers Doorpac has competed in Iron Man triathlons but nothing as gruelling as this extreme event.

He said: “This is the sort of thing you only do once.”
