Police are searching for Chesterfield’s top police officer who has been missing from his home since the weekend.
Tim Frohwein, 48, was last seen at 2pm on Sunday.
He is Chief Inspector at Chesterfield, looking after Amber Valley and Chesterfield, and was previously head of roads policing.
Derbyshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins said: “This is totally out of character for Tim and I’m extremely concerned about him, particularly as the weather has been so cold.
“We have carried out extensive searches, with the assistance of the local mountain rescue teams, who have given us their full support, as they always do.
“I would be very grateful if anyone who has seen Tim could contact us. I’d also like to appeal to Tim to get in touch. His family are very worried about him.”
Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins said it was ‘worrying news’.
Mr Frohwein, from Buxton, has short dark hair and wears glasses, may have been carrying a walking pole when last seen, and is recovering from recent knee surgery.
