This title is disrespectful

I am absolutely fed up of newspaper reporters and people who write letters to newspapers, referring to people of a certain age as '˜pensioners'.

Why do we suddenly have to take on this disrespectful title?

We are husbands/wives, parents, grandparents etc but then we turn a certain age and are labelled old age pensioners.

Don’t forget that people are having to work longer now to earn the ‘privilege’ of receiving a state pension.

So please have some respect for the senior citizens, you’ll be one yourself some day.
