Four major Rotherham players, who have been out for weeks this season, are set to resume playing in tomorrow's British and Irish Cup game at Clifton Lane against Ealing Trailfinders.

Forwards Toby Williams and Darran Harris and centres Joel Gill and Jordan Davies have recovered from serious injury and are included in the Titans’ squad, and with important Championship games coming up, their return is a major boost for coach Mark Jones.

Davies, a big and powerful centre, has played only four league games and has been absent since badly injuring a knee against London Welsh towards the end of October.

“It’s been very frustrating and I can’t tell you how thrilled it is to be back playing,” he said.

“I can’t wait to get started and what I want to do now is to help the boys get some wins under our belt.

“I’ve been back in full training for two weeks and from a personal point of view I need to push hard to get a starting position against Doncaster and then Bristol when the league resumes soon.

“It’s great to be back in the mix again and it’s been a nightmare missing so many matches.

“Since I’ve been out injured, I’ve kept in touch with the lads and have watched each home game. I’ve also attended training sessions so that I am familiar with the moves that I need to know once I’m back playing.

“The medical people at Rotherham have been great and Mark has been good too. Mark’s a top bloke and very experienced as a player and coach.

“He communicates well with the players and tells us clearly what you need to work on.”

While Rotherham are out of the B and I Cup, considering they’ve lost their last six matches, it’s essential they perform well in tomorrow’s game against Ealing and then against Leinster A in Dublin, a week today.

If the Titans gel in these B and I Cup contests, they can go into the vital Championship games against Doncaster and Bristol shortly full of confidence as these games need to be won to stop them sliding further down the league.
