Time to rhyme in Barnsley

Have your say

IF you live in Barnsley it’s time to rhyme.

As part of the Summer Reading Challenge, Barnsley Central Library will be hosting 11am poems on Saturday, August 11.

Led by famous Barnsley father and son duo, Ian and Andrew McMillan, the poetry workshop will be an opportunity for children aged eight and over to create their own masterpieces.

The session, which runs from 11am to 12.15pm, will then conclude with the new creations being read out aloud among the group.

Coun Jenny Platts, Cabinet spokesperson for Adults and Communities, said: “We are delighted to welcome back both Ian and Andrew to Barnsley Central Library. They are both excellent advocates for the library and the Summer Reading Challenge.”
