Tigers can bounce back from Peterborough disappointment, says Boocock

Eric Boocock is backing his Sheffield side to bounce back from last gasp heartache when they face Scunthorpe at Owlerton on Thursday.

Boocock, in joint charge of the Tigers alongside Marc Bates, saw Peterborough steal a draw last week when Simon Stead’s bike packed up.

Now Tigers are looking to complete a League Cup double when the Scorpions hit town after winning at the Eddie Wright Raceway last month.

Said Boocock: “We were disappointed, obviously, to draw last week as we should have won the meeting.

“Our meetings against Peterborough always seem to provide some great racing and it was no different, it was just unfortunate as we certainly had no luck on our side and they were good enough to take advantage.

“I’m sure we’ll be able to get back to winning ways against Scunthorpe.

“Scunthorpe have Josh (Auty) who is riding excellently at the moment, so he’s going to be a threat, but we’ll focus on doing our job and I think we should get the win.”

Tigers are expecting reserve Richard Hall to return after his chest infection.
