Three teams move on

there were victories for Dinnington Town, Rossington Main and Brodsworth Welfare in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup first round last night.

Dinnington put out Yorkshire Main 1-0 with a cracking 30-yard strike into the top corner from Louis Axcell in the 67th minute.

Brodsworth Welfare gained a much needed victory with a 2-1 home win over Armthorpe MW. The visitors were in front after just 20 seconds but Brodsworth equalised before the break through Richard Metcalfe with Sean Gorman getting the winner with two minutes remaining.

Rossington Main won for the first time this season as they beat Mexborough Main Street 3-0. Lee Holmes slotted home the first on 52 minutes with Ian Hutchinson adding the second 60 seconds later. Rob Oxer then powerfully headed in from a corner on 58 minutes to seal the tie.

Worsbrough's home tie with Kinsley Boys, postponed due to floodlight problems, will be played on Tuesday, October 30.

Dinnington U-19s made it a good night for the club winning 4-1 at Farsley in the FA Youth Cup with goals by Stefan Jackson, Lee Turner, John Harris and Ben Tomlinson.
