Three fire engines called to Sheffield’s Hallam Tower

Fire crews have been called to a blaze at a major derelict building in Sheffield - Hallam Tower, this evening.

The Hallam Tower building is a former hotel in the Fulwood area of Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service confirmed to The Star that three fire engines and a turntable ladder were called to the Manchester Road building at about 5pm.

They were called after a fire broke out on the seventh floor of the building.

The blaze involved ‘a small amount of wood’.

Crews extinguished the fire and left the scene at about 6.20pm.

It is not yet known what started the blaze.
