Right Up Our Street, who will be opening the St Leger Festival with their DNweekeND event, which runs from September 2 to 4, are asking for volunteers to get involved in the latest performance of the Donco.

Andrew Loretto, project director, from Right Up Our Street, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the DNweekeND as part of the St Leger Festival and would like to see local people getting involved in bringing the performance to life.

“We are looking for a diverse range of adults for the show – including actors, singers and people who are up for cycling with and operating the giant Donco puppet.

“Anyone interested in taking part needs to be available at 3pm on September 2 and for a rehearsal during the run up to the event.”

This will be the third DNWeekeND to take place in Doncaster and this year Right Up Our Street will be putting on a true festival of dreams.

“The three-day event will bring a wide variety of diverse and inspirational performances and interactive events for the people of Doncaster.

“The Great Big Donco will parade around the town centre, straight after the St Leger Festival launch and will kick off the DNweekeND in style,” added Andrew.
