Twitter account Sheffield Eyes tweeted a video of a large area of the Moor, outside Atkinson's, cordoned off as pedestrians are moved on.

The video shows a large number of people sat around the cordon, stretching past the Moor Market and Sainsbury's.

Sheffield City Council has said that the Moor has been cordoned off so that it can be power washed.

However, a spokesperson said that they were trying to rearrange it for when there are 'fewer pedestrians around'.

The Moor is currently undergoing a massive redevelopment with a number of new shops, restaurants and a cinema opening in recent years.

Primark opened up a huge new store and were joined by Specsavers, JD Sports, and Gap.

The Light Cinema then opened with its nine luxury screen, green room and bar as well as Zizzi, GBK, Pizza Express and Nando's.

Lane7 is the latest big name to be unveiled for The Moor, with its bowling lanes to be accompanied by retro gaming arcades, karaoke, ping pong and pool.

Next and Lane7 join H&M and New Look as the high street names already signed up for phase three of The Moor's overhaul, where ASI said there will be an additional leisure outlet, the identity of which has yet to be announced.
