This is the card all new students need to buy to save money on their travel

Students and apprentices can save money on their travel by buying their annual Unirider ticket from bus operator Stagecoach.

Students at Sheffield College, The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University can buy an annual Unirider ticket online to use on the bus and Supertram in Sheffield with a valid NUS, NUS Extra, NUS Apprentice card or student ID card.

The tickets are now available as handy StagecoachSmart travel cards. which means the ticket is protected if it is lost or stolen.

Matt Davies, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: 'We want to keep on making bus and tram travel in Sheffield as simple, easy and cost-effective as possible and we are really pleased to be extending our smart card travel options to make travelling with Stagecoach easy for students and apprentices.

'The new student StagecoachSmart cards make travelling with us easy, saving students time and money compared to buying individual tickets.'

Students can buy a range of other tickets online, including Xtra automatic monthly payment tickets for the bus or tram in Sheffield which means they can save money without having to remember to buy a new ticket each month.

Stagecoach's student ticket range already includes the £9 Sheffield student bus megarider, offering unlimited weekly travel on all buses in Sheffield and single £1.20 bus fares.
