The posters, which are emblazoned with the strapline of the UK Government Northern Ireland, have gone on display at a number of locations across the city centre.

The designs, which encourage people to get a test if they are displaying coronavirus symptoms, also encourage users to download the Northern Ireland Covidcare app.

"Someone’s put wrong posters up, seen them all over town!”It is not clear who is responsible for the wrong posters being displayed.

On St Patrick’s Day 2019, Sheffield Council had to apologise after the Welsh flag was flown over the Town Hall on Ireland’s national day.
