Following the success of community hubs at the Hall Gate Centre in Mexborough and the Jade Centre in Bentley, the service has now officially opened The Stainforth Hub at Stainforth Clinic. The hub will offer counselling and advice on beating addiction to alcohol and drugs to both users and their families.

Stuart Green, service manager, said the team is “committed to helping adults who have found that drug or alcohol use is causing harm to themselves, their family or the local community. Our main single point of access base is at Rosslyn House on Thorne Road, which means it is harder to reach for people who live outside the town centre. These local hubs mean we’re bringing our service into the local community close to where people live, making it as easy as possible for them to get the help and support they need.”

He added: “We’re developing a timetable of activities at all our hubs including group and one-to-one work, arts and crafts, as well as mutual aid groups using our acclaimed volunteer and peer mentor programme. We’re also able to offer links to local gyms, health and fitness, education and employment opportunities via our employment and education workers.” Visit www.aspire.community
