Thieves steal solid silver items from Sheffield business after cutting hole in roof

A number of solid silver items have been stolen during a high value burglary at a Sheffield business.

Police said offenders broke into Carrs of Sheffield Ltd on Holbrook Avenue, at around 1.40am on January 23, by cutting a hole in the roof.

Items stolen included solid silver cutlery, picture frames, children’s keepsakes, crosses, money clips and tie clips.

Many of the items are said to be quite ornately patterned and bear the hallmark RC.

Officers would like to speak to anyone with information about the burglary or who has been offered items for sale or any businesses offered large amounts of silver for melting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 59 of 23 January 23.
