A WOMAN is suspected of putting on a long skirt to hide the safe her gang had just stolen from a Doncaster shopkeeper.
She was one of four women and two men who carried out the distraction theft at an off-licence in Bentley Road, Bentley, last month.
Doncaster police have issued CCTV pictures of the group who distracted the shop assistants while one of the women entered the living quarters at the back of the shop.
She was caught on camera going into the area wearing trousers, but came out a short while later wearing a long skirt and looked to be struggling to walk.
A safe containing about £20,000 worth of Indian jewellery and cash was stolen and it is believed the woman may have had the safe between her legs under the skirt.
Anyone who may recognise them, or has information about the incident, is asked to call Denise Dalrymple at the Crime Management Unit on 0114 220 2020. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
