They're off...in Pole position for charity funds

TWO Doncaster drivers are hoping to be in 'Pole' position when they head off on a charity road race to Krakow.

And they’re making the trip in an old banger that cost less than 100!

Richard Myatt and Paul Evans will travel through six countries - France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Slovakia - before they arrive at their Polish destination.

Richard’s five-year-old daughter Jade has cerebral palsy and the pair are taking on the Eastern Europe expedition to raise funds for cerebral palsy charity Cerebra.

The drive has been organised by the charity - and one of its stipulations was any car entered must have cost less than 100.

Richard bought a 1991 Rover 416 from a mate and the decorated it himself with artex.

“My friend’s had the car for years so at least I know it’s reliable,” Richard, 34, said.

“It certainly looks pretty colourful now I’ve artexed it.

“It’s a pretty old car and it’s quite a long drive - let’s just hope we make it!”
