They're Craine-ing momentum

CRAINE seek to maintain the enthusiasm that sold all 3,000 copies of their debut Treehouse Sessions EP with a tour beginning tonight and taking them to a showcase in Camden.

Singer Steve Craine says they've had some offers to take their "spine tingling ballads and stadium sized anthems" to the wider world but are hoping to strike it lucky with a major.

"A lot of alternative bands with a tinnier sound have been signed," says Steve. "Our songs are bigger, stadium anthems - mainstream stuff.

We are not afraid to say that. Ultimately we want to be up there, but we need someone with clout. As long we go forward with what we believe in we'll have no regrets."

Tonight Craine play The Arches, Barnsley, ahead of supporting The Departure - Northampton act currently recording a sequel to their 2005 album Dirty Words - at The Leadmill on Wednesday, returning after their summer Floodstock slot. They follow the October 27 Oxjam Festival with a Dublin Castle showcase on November 28.
