Specialist equipment worth more than £800 has been stolen from a rail property store in Bawtry.
Thieves forced their way in by breaking open a lock before stealing plant equipment from a steel cabinet.
The items – two rail trolleys, two generators, three sets of halogen lights, six heel bars and eight sledge hammers – are worth £880 but will be difficult to sell on.
PC George Shaw, of British Transport Police, said: “We are currently viewing CCTV in the area and conducting local enquiries to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Those who access prohibited parts of the railway to commit offences need to think of the potential consequences.” Anyone with information should call BTP on 0800 405040, quoting reference B12/NEA of 21/04/2011.
