Clinton Woods never knew the meaning of fear when the former IBF world champion took on the likes of Roy Jones Jr, Glen Johnson, Rico Hoye and Antonio Tarver.

But the present-day Sheffield gym owner could be forgiven for quaking in his boots when he sees this video.

Woods, the ex light heavyweight ruler, is coming out of retirement to take part in a cancer-charity boxing match.

He is up against David Wroe: who as the video shows, is training like actor Sylvester Stallone did in the Rocky films.

Wroe says he won’t take it easy against the one-time boxing superstar.

He and Woods are supporting Lee Brown, a former Dinnington Comprehensive School pupil, who was diagnosed with a gastrointestinal tumour in February.

The event takes place at Woods’ gym in Westfield on Saturday, at 10.45am.

David says: “Lee got devastating news that he had a 26cm tumour growing inside him, a rare form of cancer that only 900 people a year get diagnosed with. So what is the treatment for this? Chemo radiotherapy? Nope it doesn’t work on this form of cancer.

“The only thing that works is some medication but it doesn’t work for everyone. That’s your only chance.

“Most people would probably give up think that this is something they can’t beat is impossible to over come. Not Lee Brown! He sets up a page called taking the gist let’s laugh at cancer because he’s determined not to be beaten and to be positive and if this going to take him he’s going to create as many good memories as possible and have as many laughs as possible.

“Now I’ve got to climb in the ring and box former world, European & British boxing champion Clinton Woods!”
