The story behind abandoned car wedged between trees on busy Sheffield road
The story behind an abandoned car wedged between trees at the side of a busy Sheffield road for three days has been revealed.
A Sheffield motorist will appear in court accused of drink driving after a crash close to a roundabout on Bochum Parkway and Norton Avenue, near Lightwood.
James Baldwin, aged 23, of Hazelbarrow Crescent, Jordanthorpe, was arrested shortly after the collision and will appear in court at the end of the month.
Emergency services were called around 5.10pm on Saturday, November 12.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said Mr Baldwin was charged with driving whilst over the prescribed legal limit of alcohol in breath and failing to stop at the scene of an road traffic collision.
The car was left at the roadside in the trees for three days before it was recovered.
He has been bailed to attend Sheffield Magistrates' Court on November 29..
