POLICE investigating a suitcase lost on a train as it passed through Sheffield have issued a picture of an elderly woman they want to trace.
The case belonged to a Doncaster man travelling to Manchester Airport to catch a plane to Australia for a two week holiday. It contained all his clothes, and a laptop.
The man left the case in communal luggage racks but, when he checked on his belongings at Sheffield, he found the baggage had been taken.
PC Wayne Heslop, of British Transport Police, said: “We are unsure if this is an offence or a misunderstanding.”
The case vanished on the 13.42 Doncaster to Manchester Airport train on October 18 last year. Call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40.
