Many thanks to Vin Malone on his interesting article in Saturday's Retro about Robert Tedbar Tinker and his company in Bradway.
It also solved a question about why my father always referred to the junction of Bradway Road and Rod Moor Road as Tinkers corner.
I thought perhaps it was a place for gypsies or travellers to meet to sell their wares. Well, now I know it wasn’t.
