Jack’s is a new supermarket brand, with stores offering food that is grown, reared or made in Britain, with all of the meat and milk in the store being 100% British.

Area Manager of Jack’s, Tracey Winn, said: “We are delighted to be opening this new Jack’s store here in Sheffield.

“A lot of hard work has gone in to getting the store ready and our Store Manager Michael Bradley is looking forward to welcoming local customers to shop at Jack’s.”

To give back to local communities, customers at Jack’s will be able to choose between four local charities and community groups to benefit from its ‘Jack’s Supports’ scheme. Jack’s Supports will fund local projects using the money raised by the sale of carrier bags.

Representatives of the four community groups entering the first round of Jack’s Supports voting will be invited to see the store early and be a part of the store’s official opening.

The groups will also be presented with £250 each to celebrate their nomination as the first groups in the programme.

Jack’s will also give all safe unsold food to local charities and groups, through the redistribution charity FareShare.

The store’s name is inspired by and named after Tesco founder, Jack Cohen. Dave Lewis, Tesco Group Chief Executive, said: “Jack Cohen championed value for customers and changed the face of British shopping. He’s an inspiration for all of us.”
