Teenager suffers life-threatening injuries after being attacked on a Sheffield street

A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being assaulted on a Sheffield street.

Police are appealing for information after two teenagers were seriously injured following an incident in the Shalesmoor area on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to the area at around 10pm following reports two 18-year-old men had been seriously injured.

One of the men was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The second 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor head injuries.

It's not clear where in the Shalesmoor area the incident occurred.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "An investigation is underway to identify those responsible and officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area last night. Did you see the incident?"
