Teenager hurt in bike crash

A TEENAGER suffered serious injuries when he was thrown from his motorbike in a road smash in Chesterfield.

The 17-year-old youth suffered spinal injuries and was rushed to hospital where he is still being treated.

Derbyshire Police said that they were called to High Street, Old Whittington, near Chesterfield, at 8.35pm on Sunday, January 6.

They found the 17-year-old had been thrown from his blue Honda motorbike.

The incident had happened near to the roundabout with Woodmere Drive.

Derbyshire Police said it was not known whether the motorbike had been in collision with another vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information which might help crash investigators is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
