Teenager arrested over murder of Doncaster man

A teenage boy has been arrested over the murder of a man killed in his home.
43-year-old man who died in Doncaster last week has been named by investigating officers as Christopher Cumpsty. The 17-year-old was arrested last night in connection with the death of 43-year-old Christopher Cumpsty, whose body was found in his home in Cross Street, Balby.

South Yorkshire Police said the teen remains in custody this morning.

Mr Cumpsty was found dead at about 4.30am on Friday, March 11.

A post mortem examination revealed he died from multiple injuries.

A 45-year-old man who was also arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.

A 41-year-old woman who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder remains on bail.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “As part of the investigation, officers are keen to trace information about Christopher’s last known movements at the beginning of March.”
