Teenager arrested in connection with Sheffield supermarket murder

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 40-year-old Ahmed Sayeed Adan in Sheffield.

The teenager was detained earlier today and has been bailed while police carry out further enquiries, a force spokesman said.

South Yorkshire Police said Mr Adan, from the Burngreave, was standing outside Emin Supermarket in Spital Hill, Sheffield, at around 3.45am on Sunday 20 November, when it is reported he was attacked

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he sadly died on Tuesday, November. 29

A forensic post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Adan died as a result of head injuries.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information should call 101 or email [email protected] quoting incident number 208 of 20 November 2016.
