Teenage girl suffers broken leg in quad bike crash in Barnsley

A teenage girl suffered a broken leg after she was struck by a quad bike in Barnsley.

The 13-year-old and a friend, also 13, were struck by a quad bike which South Yorkshire Police said had been ridden 'dangerously' beforehand.

The teens were both struck in Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe, at 2pm on Friday, October 28.

A 24-year-old man was interviewed over the collision and bailed pending further inquiries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Barnsley Road, Goldthorpe, Barnsley, after it was reported two 13-year-old girls had been hit by a quad bike.

"It is thought a man was riding a black and yellow coloured quad bike dangerously around the area before he hit the girls.

"One of the girls sustained a broken leg from the incident along with other minor injuries.

"Police would like to speak with anyone who may have seen what happened, or who was in the area at the time."
