Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of puncturing car tyres in a Sheffield suburb.

They boys were arrested in Woodhouse last night and officers are looking into the possibility that there may be a connection with a number of incidents earlier this year.

Tyres were slashed in the Richmond Road area of Handsworth on Friday, January 22.

And vandals also damaged car tyres in the Old Retford Road area on Saturday, January 16, and Sunday, January 17.

At that time officers were linking the offences.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Both were arrested by officers and as a result of our investigation it appears these two may be linked to the Handsworth tyre slashings from a few months ago.

"Both are now on bail for a month."
