Teen still in hospital after Chesterfield park '˜stabbing'

A teenager who was allegedly stabbed in Queen's Park last week remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police were called to the Chesterfield park at 4.25pm last Wednesday and found an injured 17-year-old boy.

An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth, both from Chesterfield, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm later in the evening and released on bail pending further investigations.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said today: “For operational reasons we’re unable to give more details of the incident in Queen’s Park last week.

“Enquiries are progressing and two suspects remain on police bail.

“The victim of the assault remains in hospital in a stable condition.”

Scores of Chesterfield residents have taken to social media to wish the injured boy a speedy recovery after the ‘stabbing’.
