Teen killed in Sheffield bus smash named as Summer Lee Seymour

Police have named the 15-year-old girl killed in a Sheffield city centre bus smash as Summer Lee Seymour.

A witness appeal has been launched after Summer died following a collision in Sheffield city centre yesterday afternoon (Friday 11 December).

Just before 5pm, it is understood two pedestrians were involved in a collision with a bus in Haymarket in Sheffield city centre, at the junction with Castle Street.

Summer Lee Seymour, died as a result of her injuries.

The other pedestrian, a 17-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Specialist officers are providing support to the families involved.

Summer’s family have issued a photograph and they have asked that their privacy be respected as this most difficult time.
