A teenager is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after the car he was driving smashed into a wall in South Yorkshire.

The 19-year-old was at the wheel of a blue MG car which crashed into a wall near to the entrance of Rotherham Rugby Club on Badsley Moor Lane at around 1.10am on Saturday.

The young man, from Rotherham, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 78 of December 14.
