a HIGH-TECH treasure hunt has been organised for South Yorkshire families to demonstrate how technology can be used to help people keep fit.

The geocaching event has been organised by Barnsley-based Team Activ, where mobile phones or a sat-navs will be used to help treasure hunters find hidden goodies.

It will be held in the grounds of Wentworth Castle, Stainborough, near Doncaster.

Darren Padgett, founder of Team Activ, said: “It’s a modern twist on the traditional treasure hunt. It’s great fun for children, but also allows teenagers to combine their love of mobile phones and technology with fitness.”

The event takes place on Saturday, April 6, between 10am and 3pm.

Entry costs £4 for adults, £2 for children or £10 for a family ticket.
