NORTH East Derbyshire Council is set to freeze council tax bills for the coming year.

It comes as the authority announced proposals for a ground-breaking Strategic Alliance with neighbouring Bolsover District Council – cutting management costs to save around £1.5m a year and ensuring frontline services are protected from spending cuts.

North East Derbyshire Council leader, Coun Graham Baxter, said: “We are committed to helping relieve pressure on household budgets by freezing the level of council tax for the coming year.”
