Taste of life in Civil War

Have your say

CLIFTON Park Museum in Rotherham is bringing foods from the Civil War era back to life with a day of cookery demonstrations on April 20.

Re-enactors in 17th century costume will be cooking delicacies from the time on the museum’s Victorian range, with recipes including honey cake, cheese pie, biscuits and marmalade.

Visitors will be able to sample some of the food and items are also being sold in the Granary Cafe.

The free event runs from 10am to 3pm.
