Tap into classic kitchen sink drama at the Little Theatre

KITCHEN sink drama comes to Doncaster Little Theatre next month with a production of Shelagh Delaney's A Taste of Honey.

The play, which is directed by Malcolm Beasley, is set in Salford and tells the story of Jo, a 17-year-old working class girl whose mother abandons her after finding a rich and considerably younger lover.

Jo finds a room with Geoffrey, a gay acquaintance, and becomes pregnant after sleeping with Jimmy, a black sailor. Geoffrey assumes the role of father until Jo's mother returns, when the future of her new family is put into question.

The play runs from Monday September 17 to Saturday September 22 at the East Laith Gate venue.
