A talented dancer from Sheffield is jumping for joy after fighting off competition from around the country to land a place in a professional ballet production.
Seren Palfreyman, aged eight, from Mosborough, is rehearsing for Giselle, which is to be performed in Bradford next month.
The youngster, who attends Mosborough Primary School and Susan’s Danstudio, in Eckington, is one of 97 young ballet dancers, aged between eight and 18, in the production.
Giselle will be presented by English Youth Ballet at the St George’s Hall, Bradford, starring international principal dancers Amy Drew, Adele Robbins, Monica Tapiador, Richard Read, Brenden Bratulic, Oliver Speers and Trevor Wood.
Seren was among 200 hopeful young ancers who attended an audition for the production.
Director and founder of English Youth Ballet, Janet Lewis, said: “EYB is all about providing extra performance experience to young dancers.
“We saw a very pleasing standard at the audition and it was lovely to see lots of enthusiasm.”
