The demolition of Don Valley Stadium is continuing with the removal of large sections of seating.

Jessica Ennis-Hill’s former training ground is being ripped down to save Sheffield Council £700,000 per year.

The demolition process began in November last year and is expected to take six months in total.

Athletics training sessions have been moved to the nearby Woodbourn Road Stadium, which was renamed the Sheffield Hallam University City Athletics Stadium.

The future of the land at Don Valley is still uncertain but suggestions have included a sports medicine centre, university technical college or school.
